Pray for peace on Babri Masjid's demolition aniversary

6th December takes us down the scary memory lane every year. Like many others I too have bitter memory of that year and that event which tore apart Indian social fabric. The Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb and culture of communal harmony came under siege by the people of republic itself. The shattering event of desecration and demolition shook the very foundation of our republic. The dust that spread out of rubble tarnished the image of our country which was cynosure of tolerance and brotherhood in the comity of nations.  It brought a derangement and the society never returned back to the old beautiful days of harmonious and peaceful co-existence. Land of Budha and Gandhi witnessed worst of animosity among the people.
Politicians instead of playing peaceniks fanned the communal flare and further divided the society on religious, caste and regional lines.  The champion of communal politics build career their on the debris of Babri Masjid. Many of them occupied constitutional position years later. Two decades since the mob justice, the issue remains unsettled and there appears no sign of solution to the contentious issue in near future. The delay in resolution still provides fodder for the politics. Every election the issue is raked up and society is polarized in the name of Ram.
In the year when Kartarpur corridor could be opened after a wait of 70 years, I pray that some players (the real players like the two cricketers in case of Kartarpur Sahib not the political ones) play the role of peacemaker and the issue is amicably solved.
