Blood stained newspaper

Blood stained newspapers with headlines giving statistics of death, blown up human bodies shown on TV screens, suicide by farmers in debts, hunger death, homicide, riots; are the harsh realities of our daily life. Can we escape it, I wonder.

I wish, may there be no news of death whenever I pick up my morning newspaper. Alas, my wish never comes true. The human beings if not killed by fellow human faced beings, die due to severity of inclement weather. There was a siege of a café in Australia where two hostages and the lone terrorist were killed. Then there was a dance of macabre by ghastly terror act in army school of Pakistan. Innocent children were butchered by devils. Next day, the Pakistan army killed more than 50 in its restive province in retaliation claiming they all were terrorists. Yesterday, there were killings in Assam, and elsewhere people died due to inclement weather.

My heart trembles in fear what is in today’s store. Today’s shroud and coffin and grave and pyre are waiting for whom ……..
Kiski chita aaj uthegi
kaun dafanaya jayega
Kahan se aag uthegi yaron
Kiska ghar jal jaayega
Kaun banega aaj niwala
wahshi in darindon ka
Kaun qarz ke bojh tale
Dab jaayega mar jayega
Jahez ki la’nat aaj kise
Maut ki neend sulaayegi
Mazhab ke thekedaar kahan
Khoon se holi khelenge
Sard raaton mein kaun kahan
Thithur thithur mar jaayega
Kidhar aaj phir dashat ka
Qahar hai barpa hone wala
Dharti kaanp rahi hai yaron
Asmaan bhi hai sakte mein
Yen insaanon ki basti hai
Ya shaitan hain abaad yahan
Maut ka aisa saya hai
Basti hai sunsaan yahan
Kyun khaamosh baithe hain
jitne hain insaan yahan
Aaj agar khaamosh rahoge
Yahi kal ka aalam hoga
Har basti mein aag lagegi
Har basti jal jaayegi
Insaanon ki basti se ek sada tab aayegi
Koi nahi hai koi nahi, koi nahi hai koi nahi
